This annual event is Hospice’s biggest fundraiser of the year and is sure to be an exciting and fun evening for all!  The Heart for Hospice Ball is an opportunity to get dressed up, enjoy great food and music with other community members, while supporting a local non-profit organization of neighbors helping each other finish life’s journey with dignity and compassion.

Community Memorial Service

The loss of a loved one can be the most stressful time in a person’s life.  Memorializing our loved ones is an important part in the grief process. On Ocotber 3, Hospice of Kodiak held a Community Memorial Service.  The Memorial service, open to all community members, was an opportunity for individuals to honor, remember and memorialize loved ones.

The 2nd Annual Community Memorial Service will be held in the fall of 2016.

Hospice of Kodiak Annual Volunteer Training

2015 Annual Volunteer Training was held on September 23-26. We had 11 individuals participate in this training.

      Where: St. Paul Lutheran Church

Hospice of Kodiak is offering a grief support group to help individuals learn about grief and discover healthy ways to heal.  Stepping Stones Grief Support Group uses a seven week traditional support group format which offers a safe place for sharing and bonding with others who have experienced the death of a loved one.  Understanding Your Grief, by Dr. Alan Wolfelt provides the framework for this group.  Pastor Elden Simonson, Hospice volunteer chaplain, will be facilitating the sessions.
